Kimberly Harper Studio
The same process that archives the Lowcountry, extended to the people who live in it.
I've spent years photographing this place the way a museum would — archival substrate, numbered editions, a certificate that says this exists and it matters. The Archival Portrait Commission takes that same process and turns it on a family, or on one person. Not a family photography package. A fine art commission, produced the way a collector's print is.

The Work
Fifteen years of documentary and editorial photography taught me that the only thing that matters in a portrait is waiting for what's real to surface. At Kimberly Harper Studio, that same eye moves from events, boardrooms, and ballfields to a boneyard beach at dead low tide. Wherever we work, Kimberly Harper Studio is focused on the unguarded moment, and now that gaze is pointed at you.
